Job title: Assistant Baker
Based in: The Croft, St. Vincent Road, Kacheripady, Ernakulam
Reports to: Head baker & Pastry Chef
Hours: Full time (10 Hrs./Day)
Salary: Starting at Rs. 10,000/month
Job Purpose: Pastry decorating, measuring, mixing, moulding dough, baking, cleaning.

Job responsibilities:

Bakers prepare doughs, batters, according to recipes. They bake bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods.

Bakers measure and mix ingredients to prepare fillings, or icings. They may also prepare ingredients such as fruits, nuts, or chocolate for use on baked goods.

Bakers operate baking ovens, ensuring that they are properly preheated and maintained at the correct temperature for the specific baked good being prepared. They also monitor baking times to ensure that products are baked to perfection.

Bakers inspect finished products to ensure that they meet quality standards in terms of appearance, texture, and taste. They may also sample products to ensure consistent quality.

Bakers are responsible for keeping their work area clean and sanitary at all times. This includes cleaning baking equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, as well as following proper food safety protocols.

In retail bakery settings, bakers may interact directly with customers, answering questions about products, and providing recommendations.

Bakers often work as part of a team, collaborating with other bakery staff such as pastry chefs, cake decorators, and bakery assistants to ensure smooth operations and timely production of baked goods.
